Help

Continuing my string of bad luck, somebody appears to have hacked the Jennifer Crusie Facebook page and I can’t get into it, they’ve removed me as administrator. Could somebody here look to see if Jennifer Crusie on Facebook is still accessible? Not Jenny Crusie, that’s still there, or was the last time I looked.

Argh.

  1. Hi Jenny, I just looked up Jennifer Crusie on Facebook and didn’t see you. There are others but not you.

  2. Jenny – I am not a tech wiz, unfortunately. I can’t help you. I wish I could. I did comment on one of Bobs pages that I follow. Maybe he can figure out the answer to your question.

  3. I can find Jennie Crusie and see pages referring to Jennifer Crusie but cannot find Jennifer Crusie.

  4. I can see both pages, but I’m only friends with the Jenny Crusie page.

But I can view Jennifer Crusie, last post in 2012z

  5. No Jennifer Crusie. I’m a bit amazed at the number of spam “contact random guy at Meta—he’ll fix it” responses your latest post on Jenny Crusie got.

  6. Unfortunately this is very common. Please don’t blame yourself. Another creator that I follow on Instagram lost her fb recently and has been struggling with Meta support to try to get it back in her control. Apparently they are very unhelpful. Please don’t blame yourself. Internet fraud and hacking just keeps getting more and more common. A stat that they told us at the bank (not sure how accurate or where it came from) is that we are seeing a 300 percent increase this year.

  7. someone stole my The L.A. Stories FB page years ago, for what reason I’ll never know, since I did no business that way and had no following. I just shrugged and let it go … my private page and website will have to do.

Sorry people are f**king with you, Jenny. It’s the last thing you need, at any time, but especially right now. 🙁

  8. Same here. No Jennifer, only Jenny. I realized I had never friended the Jenny page, so I went ahead and did that.

Any of the authors here getting fake book club emails? (I haven’t been around lately, so maybe we’ve already discussed this.) If they weren’t so annoying, they’d be hilarious. They are so obviously AI. Some claim to love something that didn’t happen in the book, or to have read and love a book that hasn’t even been written yet. Ugh.

      1. Yes, report it to Facebook as soon as possible. It’s not a quick fix, but the process should be started.

And I’ll also confirm the Jennifer Crusie (Jenny Crusie) page is still active. other folks I follow who’ve had this happen to them shifted posting to other business pages or their personal page while trying to reclaim their pro page. It usually takes months.

    1. I’m getting fake “marketing” emails. Oh I loved your book we could do so much with it. So far, referencing one specific title, which is a self-published short story, and I’m like, honey. Ain’t nobody ever broke big with a self-published short story. I just snort and delete.

  9. I put in Jennifer Crusie and Jenny Crusie came up. Also some pages that discuss Jennifer Crusie, but no Jennifer Crusie page.
Good luck – what a pain!

  10. I clicked on the saved link to your page in my shortcuts and got this:

This content isn’t available right now
When this happens, it’s usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it’s been deleted.

It was working a few days ago.

  11. Well, that sucks. Only the Old page was up Chad no current posts. This happened to my son and then Facebook banned him for quite a while for nothing. And he is a very highly tech person.
Who needs Facebook anyway.! I’m so glad you’re here

  12. Irrelevant to you, but FB has been randomly (frequently) giving me the “something has gone wrong. please try again later” message over and over as I scroll. Nothing obvious to me has gone wrong. So.

    1. Thats the one with the most recent post being 2012. Although the name has been updated to Jennifer.

  13. There is a post from a few years ago saying Mollie had rescued it. I wonder if she still has administrator rights and can restore it?
