I have no idea why I put up two GBT posts. I didn’t want to forget as I have in the past, but that’s ridiculous. And redundant. My plan is to get my act together and be organized in 2026, since 2025 has been pretty much a total loss (except I adopted Johnny, and I have fabulous friends, and my daughter is a goddess, so there’s that).
Anyway, expect more screw-ups before January 1. I’m not even trying to get things right any more, I just want them DONE.
Also, if I forget, best wishes for whatever holiday you celebrate. Ho, ho, argh.

Since each post got over 100 comments, I don’t think double posting was a problem 🙂
Happy holidays to you — however and wherever you celebrate.
No worries. We’ve been having fun in the comments. We always do, regardless of what’s posted and what’s not posted.
Pretty sure everyone’s in year-end survival mode at this point. I don’t really have that much on my agenda (semi-retired, no book deadlines, no local family to make holiday demands on me), but I’m still feeling overwhelmed, despite objectively not being so. I think it’s just in the air, which makes it doubly stressful for those who have actual overloads this time of the year!
Merry Christmas / Yule / Festivus (or equiv.) to you as well Jenny!
Happy Advent!
Merry Christmas Jenny xxx And everyone forgets or is a bit ditzy this time of year. Though in my case, the ditz is year round, and I’m not ashamed to admit that!.
We’ll take extra Jenny! Hang in there, nothing but good times ahead.
And could you post our singing reindeer, please?
Happy Chanukkah, Blessed Yule, and Merry Christmas to all, and may the holidays bring maximum joy and minimum stress. (Hey, one can always hope.)
Maybe one of us could just link to the reindeer here and save our host the trouble, at least for this year? I would do it but I’m not sure what I’m looking for ..
Here are the Drifters.

Thank you!
Thanks, Nancy!
That’s it! Thank you. I love the animation.
Thanks so much Nancy. I needed this today.
Oh, crap. That was supposed to go up the day after Thanksgiving. Give me a minute.
Just getting to read all your book and hang out with you a little bit every day is so special to me. Take care and take it easy on yourselve. You rock Thank you so much. Merry Christmas
Happy holidays!
The double post was not a problem. Each one was a few moments of calm and escape from the overwhelm.
Two GBTs was a special holiday treat! Happy Holidays Jenny!
Two GBTs is like a present!! Happy holidays!!!
No worries, Jenny. We love you, despite your being frazzled. Who isn’t, at this time of year? I called my chauffeur son by his brother’s name yesterday, because his brother is coming to visit us with his family, soon. I am so excited to see them.
Tomorrow it will be Winter Solstice, which is worth celebrating. Soon, days will be longer. Right now, it is 42º here in the Kansas City area! The weather guy was hoping last night that we would at least tie the warmest Christmas temperatures, from 1922. It could reach that record-setting 67º on Sunday. I remember one Christmas when I was in 5th grade, so warm, that I could ride my new bicycle without worrying about snow or slush on the street.
Maybe we need two Good Book Thursdays on the regular?
Or at least two Thursdays.
You know, that would help.
I think it’d be fun but it might make our charming host three times as frazzled? 😉
Your charming host is finally getting her furniture and things and realizing that she collected a boatload of stuff that she now has to wash and put away. I will be unfrazzoled by January 1, but thank you very much for your concern.
Just take care of yourself. The entire planet has vibrated on too high of a frequency for the whole of 2025. Everyone I know is “dancing as fast” as they can. December is an anxious month, for good or bad or both. Personally, I prefer to spend December hibernating & my body agrees. I’ve had complete laryngitis for almost 2 weeks & it’s been great; I recommend it. Here’s to a peaceful Winter Solstice. Best wishes
I don’t think anyone here is upset by an extra post–about anything.
But for your own sake–might you need a vacation, away from technology,
a tiny sabbatical? You and Bob set a furious pace and then stick to it, which is
admirable and yet has to be exhausting. I hope you have some time just to be
this winter.
Holiday rest/respite to all!
I got a kick out of the two posts. 🙂
I thought you were doing a funny based on having too many books… 😉
The first book in your new series is almost done, the novella is in rewrites, the next book is started. If that’s what makes a year a “total loss” I could use one a total loss!
Happy holidays!
Me too!!!!!
Especially given the medical crises and moves !
Taking care of your health is never unproductive.
Adopting Johnny has to outweigh so many of the bad things, Jenny. If you feel like it posting another photo of him at some stage, I wouldn’t mind …
I’m in the middle of reading a book that, in the introduction says basically, ‘You’ll never get your shit together, you’ll never get more organised than you are now, and that’s okay.’ Which some people might find depressing, but I actually found it remarkably liberating.
Lian, for me, that would be liberating AND depressing.
Double the pleasure, double the fun…
I just try to roll with whatever and whenever the posts go up. Half the time I’m a day late reading them anyway.
Happy Holidays to all.
