Argh Author: Barbara Monajem’s Lady Rosamund Confesses

Our own Barbara Monajem has a new novella in her Regency Mystery series, “Lady Rosamund Confesses.”

After the terrifying experience of confronting a murderer, Lady Rosamund retreats, along with her father and McBrae, to the home of friends in the country for some much-needed relaxation.

But before long, they find themselves embroiled in the affairs of a neighboring family, and soon this involves a corpse.

If this isn’t trouble enough, Rosie can’t figure out what McBrae’s intentions are—not to mention her own. Will he ask her to marry him? What will she reply? And what more must she confess before daring to say yes?

This novella takes place immediately after Lady Rosamund and the Plague of Suitors.

  1. I love Regency! I started with the “sweet” novellas. Now I’m re-reading like a madwoman and looking for new books set in that era. 👍

    1. Thanks, Llewella. It is certainly a fun series to write, because Lady Rosamund was born to privilege and has a lot to learn about how everyone else thinks and lives.

  4. Thanks, Deborah. This is the only series I’ve written in first person, and Lady Rosamund sometimes breaks the fourth wall to speak directly to the reader, which is fun (for me and evidently for readers, who comment on it).

    1. Do you have links to the first book? Also, how many books are in the series? (Of course, I should simply google this instead of bothering you. )

    There are three full-length novels in the series and one novella. The novella doesn’t show up as part of the series because the novels were published by Level Best Books and I self-published the novella. The super ladies at Level Best reduced the price of book one to help me promote the series as well as the novella.

    There will be more, but I don’t know about the length. The older I get, the more I want to write a story until I get to the end, without worrying about word count.
