  1. The message that you’re home. And Monty Python. And my kids’ school reports, and friends visiting for the weekend, blue skies and frosty mornings, new jeans, chocolate brownie, a hug from my nana, and Ambrosia apples.

There’s an awful lot to be happy about this week.

  2. I’m happy because I received an email with a positive comment about the recent volunteering I’d done.

    I’m very happy you’re home.

I cooked a lot today and it made me happy so I walked for 35 minutes to build up my endurance.

  3. I’m so happy to hear that you are home! I’m so happy to have seen old friends and family this week. I’m so happy to have been able to give hugs to people I love.

  4. So happy to hear that you are home.

Happy to have had a productive week at work. Happy to have gotten to go home early because we all had a “isn’t this a holiday weekend??” feeling on Friday.

Happy to have eaten my sister’s gazpacho yesterday, with Maurice Salad (for you people who ever lunched at Hudson’s department store) yet to come. The salad is in honor of my visiting cousins – a potential happy. Naw, I’ll be optimistic and just go ahead and say it will be a happy.

Also happy not to be dead yet. And that others are not dead yet. An important blessing to remember to count.

  5. That’s wonderful you’re home! Definitely happy that my kids are both having a good time in summer camp (day camp, not sleep away) and my son had a very successful swim lesson on Friday.

  6. I went to a protest yesterday, so that was good. I am planning on going to a maker faire today.

  7. Happy to have been at the DC March and to have seen 700 or so happened around the country.

Happy DH returns tonight after a 10 day business trip.

    Very happy you are home.

  8. I’m happy I got the front garden finished. Blooming, heathy plants (and bees, butterflies, and birds) are always a joy.

I’m also happy you ate home after such a difficult time. Be good to yourself!

  9. I, too, am happy that you are home and ate’nt dead.

I’m also happy I got quite a bit of yard work done yesterday and am on an upward swing in terms of getting things done around the house.

After a small flare-up of my depression, which happens a few times a year, I seem to be feeling better which is always nice.

    Nothing but good times ahead.

  10. VERY happy to hear you’re home. All the Betties send their love. (Many of them hadn’t seen the news until I shared it on our FB group.)

I hope they have given you some meds that will make you feel like taking a walk soon. And that no one thumps you on the head.

I went to our local (an hour away) Faerie Festival yesterday, despite the mid-90’s heat. It is a traditional day out for me and some of my closest friends, including one who thankfully lives 10 minutes from the Festival, so we could retreat there for a BBQ lunch and AC when the heat got to be too much for me. Picked up a couple of cool handcrafted items and found an airy silk skirt to wear that mostly hid my lovely white knee support. Good food and good friends (and seeing my goddess daughter and son) definitely equal happy.

Hoping to finish up the first draft of my Riders novella today, which would make me very happy indeed.

    1. Novella is finished (you know, except for multiple rounds of revisions). Very happy. Ate ice cream despite trying to lose weight, because, you know, 101 degrees out AND finished the novella. That made me even happier.

  11. Whelp, now I know what my kids were referring to when ever they talked about Monty Python’s “Bring Out Your Dead” sketch and laughed themselves silly. I’m glad to hear you’re home. Out of the hospital is a excellent start so go at your own pace.

Monty Python aside today my son is bringing his brood down to our house so they can swim in the bay. That’s my good news. It’s a little bit cooler along the coast but not by much and by the time the heat wave hangs around we will be sweltering. One last AC to install.

  12. Very happy to hear the good news that you are back home. I bet the dogs were even happier about it than all of us put together 🙂

I’m happy Fiancé came with me to dinner with the crafting club ladies, and that he could eat without problems. Happy for the hour he and I spent side by side in the club’s garden hammock, just enjoying the sun and birdsong and talking with the ladies. Happy he went to his psychologist appointment. Happy I got the chance to buy more of my (current) favourite green tea (“Rose Raspberry”) and got a walk and an ice cream at the same time thanks to MIL.

And still just feeling happy in general.

  13. I’m glad you are home. No one gets any rest in a hospital.
I must be getting old; cleaning up has made me happy. My office/sewing room was a disaster. I spent two days shoveling it out and reorganizing it and (gasp) there is a floor in there! You can put a coffee cup on the surface of my desk! Doesn’t take much any more to make me smile.

  14. Went to hear beautiful, soaring Renaissance choral music last night.

Also very glad to hear you are home again.

  15. So happy to hear that you are home again. That made my morning. I’m happy my sister is here for a visit, that my daughter can spend time with both of us, and that my new puppy is finally old enough to begin a lifetime of taking walks with me.

  16. Your return home is certainly excellent news to hear and adds to my happiness. My husband just tried out his pulse oximeter on me to see if it’s working and it says I’m still alive and kicking.

  17. Happy to have just this minute finished and submitted the sixth Helen Binney mystery (for release in early 2019). I also submitted a short story yesterday to an anthology that’s a long shot, but it’s good to be getting my stuff out there. So — happy, happy, happy. But it’s too hot to take a walk. Instead, I plan to take a nap and then eat peanut butter fudge (from National Candy Month, even if it’s a day late).

  18. I am happy that you are home again too. Happiness for me right now is sitting in my hammock swing in the shade with a breeze that helps mitigate some of the heat (near 100 forecast for today and tomorrow). The cats are out with me, lying in shady sanctuaries. It’s too warm for them to move much so I don’t have to worry that my escape artist will want to jump the fence.

Presently I will take them inside to the a/c cooled house while I run a couple of errands. I am planning hot weather dinners for the week (the heat isn’t supposed to break for several days) and need to pick up corn on the cob and salad makings, among other things.

Then back to the hammock swing for the remainder of the afternoon, with a good book!

  19. Very happy you’re home. Home is a beautiful thing:)

Hoping you have air-conditioning or can get some if heat there is anything like it is around me.

And happy Canada Day to those who celebrate:)

  20. So happy you’re home. Also happy a small group of us who couldn’t go to the rally wrote 67 pieces of mail to our elected officials demanding justice. It may just be a drop in the bucket, but it’s better than nothing.

  21. Very happy you are home–sending you healing light.

Happy that Son and Grandboy and DIL are at the lake for a week–nice! Happy that I’m getting edits done on the first Tule book–revisions are hard.

  22. So, so happy you are home. So happy.

Happiness was the Muse Retreat yesterday. I think I turned a corner in story telling. Happiness was reading what I had written and with the reactions from my fellow writers. They were encouraging. I’m going to re-write and tweak until it is ready for a couple of contests. And also to Pulp Literature.

And, so happy you are home.

Happy Canada Day to Canadians and to Americans, have a Happy July 4th.

  23. Well, I’m happy you’re home and not dead yet!
I’m also happy because I just completed another class (just two more!) to be DONE DONE with school (Master’s in Special Education). I’m totally done with work and am completely in vacation mode!
I’m also happy because I’m feeling good.

  24. So happy you’re home! Be kind to yourself.

Happy to have my cat on my lap as I’m typing this (one handed). Happy my mom’s surgery went well. Happy that next week will be a short work week!

  25. Very happy to hear that you’re home – it’s the place to be. Also happy that I have discovered the joys of working in bed – sitting up with my laptop and cat. It’s cosy (winter outside) and warm and peaceful.

  26. I am happy you are home. But true happiness is what your puppies are feeling to have Mom back and to be out of jail (after they get over the snit for having their routine disturbed).

  27. I am happy that even though my cat Aubrey is probably not going to recover from his liver problems, he seems to be feeling better. He lays in the sun and he sleeps a lot and purrs a lot and wants me to hold him and just let him know that he is loved. That sounds a little macabre but a good ending is no bad thing for someone we love.

    1. We found a baby bird who fell out of his nest yesterday. Unfortunately, the dog sort of got to him. While the bird clearly wasn’t well enough to recover, my kids and I cut up some socks to make a nice nest for him in a shoebox. Gave him a bit of water using a medicine dropper. Tried to make him comfortable in his final hours.

      1. A couple weeks ago, I had a squirrel on my sidewalk
that seemed to had fallen (because one of his back legs was having a severe issue; he kept falling over & I kept thinking things were dire, but he’d get back up); so I tossed on the sidewalk one of those twigs and nuts health food bars (not the ones that are candy bars masquerading as healthy, but one that actually was). He kept eating at it. And, now, he’s coming back to my sidewalk every couple of days to find the magic food that just appeared. 🙂 I’m glad he’s okay, but I’m not feeding him anymore. 🙂

  28. I’m happy you’re home. I’m happy we’re home (we were on vaycay). The dog is definitely happy I’m home, as I’m sure yours are. I’m happy I got to see the Mr. Rogers docu today. What a genuinely big heart that man had for children. It’s inspiring.

I’m happy I got to learn from Damon Suede yesterday. I’m happy for the feedback from my editor. I’m happy my husband is home.

Lots of reasons to be happy. Nothing but good times ahead. 🙂

  29. I’m happy that you’re home. I’m also happy that we’re done moving out of the temporary rental house and almost done unpacking boxes in the new house only 15 days after closing. I’m happy that we’ve got a plan for the yard and improvements. I’m happy that my kids love summer reading and volunteering at the library. I’m happy that I found a truly beautiful book this week that is a joy to pick up and look at and flip through (How To Be a Wildflower). I’m happy that I can go listen to the sound of the ocean whenever I want.

  30. Happy you’re out of the hospital. Feel better.

Also happy I only have to work two days this coming week; that will be nice.

  31. I’m very happy that you’re out of the hospital, and I hope that a) they kept you long enough to figure out what to do and are doing it, and b) you’re feeling better.

I had several reaffirming chats this week with neighbors I don’t see that often, so that was happy making. And part of the garden is going well. I’m a terrible gardener and it’s always a crap shoot if anything comes up, so I’m pleased with whatever happens.

  32. So happy you are home!

I’m happy that summer is here. The sunflowers are knee-high, and making good progress towards an August debut. The leaf lettuce I planted is enjoying the rainy, cool days, and I fed some to my boy cat, who loves greens (the girl cat sniffed with enthusiasm, but declined to rip into the soft butterleaf). And the petunias have recovered from their repotting, and are trying their best to put on a show.

YouTube has also put a bunch of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” into my feed, and even though it’s a time suck, it’s such a delightful time suck! Those guys have lightening wits. It’s such a joy to see brains in action.

  33. So happy you’re home! And happy that after four days of emptying moving boxes my kitchen is finally unpacked!

    3+

    1. There is nothing like packing your kitchen away to tell you what you really need and use. And even the things that only occasionally get used are great to have back in there “proper” place.

  34. Took a friend to lunch during which we got our worlds sorted. Editorial meeting during which we got the mag sorted. Good books to read, good food to cook, good rose wine chilling in the fridge. And the sun emerged from June Gloom hibernation. Sun! Warmth!

  35. Happy to hear you’re home.
Happy to come home ourselves after the annual week Up North with 30ish family members.
Happy that my DIY-gel-plate-printing experiment was a hit with said family members.
Happy that after yesterday morning’s march in 90-degree weather, I could simply drift around the house…and that today, I’m getting things done.

  36. Great to hear you’re home!

I’m happy to be back at work this week. Well, not really, but it beats coughing my guts up like I did all last week. And I felt well enough yesterday to go for an amble in the sun with my partner. That made me happy.

  37. SO HAPPY YOU ARE HOME AND ALIVE. As are your pups and everybody else, I’m sure.

Stephen would like to know if it’s rude to say that he’s happy you’re really, really hard to kill. We’re both unsure of the etiquette of that, but not sure a degree of rudeness would stop either one of us in any case 😉

    17+

    1. Tell the Prince that the jury is still out on whether this will kill me, but I’m delighted he’s mythologizing me. There simply aren’t enough myths about me.

      13+

    2. Well, *I* would love to be called “really, really hard to kill.” Just sayin’.

  38. Like everyone else, I’m happy you’re home! Hope the doggies are there with you giving you lots of love!

I’m happy Wednesday this week is a holiday.

I’m happy because I finally have meds that beat my migraines. Surprised that it’s Alieve and that it works so well!

  39. Be well, Jenny Crusie. (I think that greeting is from “The Demolition Man”)

You can’t die until you write the third Dempsey book, Amy’s story. As I don’t think you have ever mentioned plans or interest in writing that, you must live a long, long time. Long, long, LONG, long time.

  40. Glad to hear you’re home and alive! <3

I've had a hard week myself, but the Dodgers finally won again today, and I have made some yummy chocolate barks, so those are good things.

  41. So glad you’re home.

Will pen myths of your exploits and victories.

Perhaps a musical is a better vehicle for your story.

Probably begin with a Monty Pythonesque skit.

  42. My neighbour gave me some young cowslip plants she had dug up from her garden. There’s been no rain for weeks now, but the forecast says there might be some today. And we’ve booked tickets for a family outing to see Yellow Submarine at the cinema at the weekend.
