  1. Did “Panic at the Disco Day” get truncated accidentally? Cuz I’m not sure the band should get an international day, but it would be much less disturbing to celebrate modern pop-rock.

  2. I’m not panicking, but I am grouchy. The post office is closed, and they have an employee standing at the door shrugging saying he doesn’t know when it will be open.

I think we need Moist von Lipwig up in here.

  3. I have this pin that says:

To do list: 1) Procrastinate, 2) Panic

but when I was wearing it I was reversing the order – I told people I was doing the panic part NOW, and I’d procrastinate LATER, when I had time. Which a friend told me was “deeply Meta”. I can roll with that.

  4. I think I’m following Lee’s pin’s list. I was going to spend today in the garden, propagating the rest of the plants I want to take with me and finishing sorting out the greenhouse and garden shed. Instead I spent this morning reading the paper and getting depressed. I have done some gardening this afternoon, but if I go on at this rate I’m going to be panicking in a few weeks when I need to move out.

I should be getting things done and enjoying (yet another) break from the day job. I feel frustrated with myself. And sad for no good reason.

Hopefully I’ll perk up tomorrow, when I plan to visit half a dozen open studios scattered around the countryside; I know nearly all the artists, so it should be fun.

    1. Key to my happiness is to not pay attention to the news in any format or from any platform.

  5. I suffer with anxiety, and this reminds me of that old joje:

Why is there a Mother’s Day and a Father’s Day, but no Kid’s Day?

Because every day is kid’s day.

I need no special day to panic, unfortunately.

  6. I spent the day wandering through historic gardens and watching the ocean. I’ll panic later, it’s much too nice a day.

  7. I was moving apartments on this day. Panic, indeed.

Good news is I managed to fit 98% of my belongings into the new tinier place. Bad news is finding where the hell to put them all for the next few weeks because there is very, very small closet space and I have a wardrobe the size of a small state.

  8. I could have panicked as our temperature inched its way into the 120’s but I didn’t. Not even when we hit 123 yesterday. I’ve been addicted to TCM and I generally don’t even watch TV during the daytime. Did the tribute to Jane Austen at the weekend…pure heaven. Wonder what’s on today *grin* although it seems we might drop to a more pleasant 115, so I may venture out for an hour mid morning.
